The front flexy pipe on my T2, TDI's exhaust has gone, anyone know the OD of the exhaust, so I can order a new one. or does it depend on what make, or who fitted?

they are welded in Clive, I have a front pipe in the work shop I can measure later if you like, Rick

I replaced mine, the new down pipe was only £35 the chances of been able to weld in a new flex is slim! there is not that much room!

Remove exhaust, Cut flexi off. Put back in temp, tack weld flexi on. Then take off and weld it properly. :thumbs

Im well into fixing things but if the flexi has gone, the down pipe has done some miles! not much point going to all that effort to put back an old pipe me thinks :nenau And your welding possibly to rust which we all know is not fun!
I did mine while i was doing the clutch as it was easy to do with the gearbox out :clap

and at £35 not worth doing anything else, must get the name of your supplier should I need one, Rick

Thanks for the responses guys...

I do have a welder, but need welding practice, to be good enough to weld a bit back into the pipe.

The rest of the exhaust looks good, I think I may have caught the flexy on something, as all the braiding on the outside is ripped to bits...

I was thinking of cutting the flexy bit out, and using one of these slid over the cut ends to replace it.

It's OK Rick I can do that... I was just trying to save having to climb under the truck to measure up, so I could order it up tonight, if anyone already knew... thanks so much for the offer though.
