hello everybody ,
i was told the other day by a garage how much it would cost to fit a front pipe for my terrano 2 tdi if i got my own they said it would be £30 because they would have to remove the subframe to get at it ,does anyone know if ththis is the case because i woas gonna do it meself only the bolts look like there well rusted and always the way i would be there all day ,but when i weighed the job up it did not look like i had to remove subframes or anything ,come to think of it there is no subframe, subframe is a chassis like on a mini as i remember its swayed me now but hopefully some wise person on here will have answers i hope cheers :thumbs???????

Kwik fit did mine and as I re-call it took them a while as I think they had to remove the cross member, that holds the torsion bars. Other members have changed theirs, don't recall them removing the cross member.??
They didn't charge me anymore though.

they might have meant crossmember.

Personally, for the sake of £30 i think its probably a bitch of a job and easier to get them to do it. but thats just me......I don't like getting dirty/cold/injured LOL

I must admit for 30 quid get them to do it:sly and if it isnt just so , you can have a winge:lol
No idea why they need to take crossmember out though:eek:(didnt have to on mine) If they do then amazing value for money:thumbs

agreed, spend the £30, I allways ring round and get people to price match for exhausts i usulay end up getting if fitted (with a guarantee) for less than, or not much more than, just buying the exhaust and messing myself.

I think you can get medical underpants for that these days?

thanks for the replies i dont like getting cold /injured or even frustrated when i find i dont have the right part or missing the right socket at the wrong time so i think i will get them to do it if i cant find cheaper which i dont think i would , but cheers anyway for all your answers ,thanks:thumbs:beer

For £30 I'll come to Wales and they can do mine too. What a biatch of a job. I bet they'll regret quoting you that price

I would say £30 is a very good price, but watch they do not come back with extras, another hour hear and there cos the bolts were seized etc, Rick
