sorry got that wrong they saying it will only fit swb mav or terrano is there a differnce in front pipe i thought the only difference would be at the back end

Well common sense says yes. Nissan changed as little as possible between the SWB and LWB, even the front doors are identical.

And if you check the 3 and 5 door specs on this link (click on the 'More Details' icon then scroll down to the component listing for each) you'll see it lists the same part number for the front pipe in both cases.....
