Guys on my log book my terrano is described as a 2003 terrano 11 SR..
Myinsurance company didnt have it listed... ever heard of this model?

Might be a greyish import...I bought my first T2 brand new from Trade Sales in Slough, allegedly an SE but different spec to the UK dealer version...bnut still fully warranted etc..

I quickly googled it and there are SR variants for sale abroad - Maderia was one...

has it got SR badging?

i hav'nt, mines a "se", seems strange the insurance hav'nt got it on there books, have you contacted dvla, to see if it's a printing error? if it is a sr they will be able to send you a letter to give to your insurers, but make sure you photo copy it before you part with it. :thumb2

Ours is an SR though of 96MY, oddly unlike the models in the brocheure I picked
up on the bay, the badges on the wing are missing or have never been there!

if its been brought in from Spain though more likely greece was popular as rhd
then they are classed as PARALLEL not grey and as such shouldnt present to much
of a problem to insure, typically warranty if any remaining should be picked up
by nissan uk, though they might try to distance themselves. also the corrosion
warranty will be different, less as not undersealed due to meditarean climate.
They are after european terranos, not jap market mistrals which would be greys.

typically from 2004 onwards many non franchised dealers were bringing them
in from greece as the writing was on the wall with the impending release of
the pathfinder. we almost bought a 2004/5 brand new for 16k from direct cars
sheffield though released that it didnt represent vfm to us when same money
would by us an older version, a caravan, home improvements etc but otherwise
were individually super value.

TtT - Parallel, much better description than my 'greyish'.

For info, all spanish-built Terranos had a three-year Pan-European warranty, so it was only necessary to register with a Nissan dealer.

cheers

yep standard warrenty euro wide, excluded corrosion, looked at it quite closely
at time. parallel basically a personal import done on mass bit like flying to say
germany and driving back a rhd golf as was popular few years back to save a
grand or 2. a former boss brought a vw sharon whilst on biz over there, even
had the german dealer plate surrounds but was looked after by local agent,
think he sourced a 5 series beemer same way.

no underseal eh.. i can feel some wax oil coming on..as for the badging all it says is terrano on the rear door.. cheers for all ya help guys!!!!

Agree you have to be careful about where such parallel imports were sourced from (and I'm only talking Spanish built T2s here); TtT is right about Greece, and cars for Cyprus are similarly not u/sealed. But there are other RHD markets fully spec'd, Eire for example. Not sure about South Africa....since there is a small owners club over there we can ask!

Companies like Trade Sales, Motorpoint etc still sell lots of such vehicles so if you are ever in the market for one, its well worth checking country of origin first.

thanks for reminder of Cyprus, was what I meant to say when said Greece, also Malta
I suppose anfd may Gibralter too, thought had to be european so kinda rules SA out,
but Eire as you said is an obvious parallel and similar climate should offer same sort
of under body protection. The dealer I mentioned was above board about it and said
were sourced from equal or hotter places to be sure had aircon etc but would have
thought by last years of production all trucks would have it.

Eire? Don't you mean Ireland?

Sorry Pajo, we can call you whatever you prefer, take it Ireland
is preferred over the republic of.. and Eire is it.

Do you prefer to be known as Irish from Ireland, we can make a
better effort to address your nationallity as you deem we should.

No offence taken, just I haven't heard it called Eire in a long time. My name is Liam but I have a neck like a jockey's &*^%$£ and don't take offence easily. I have a mate from Burton on Trent and he refuses to call me anything other than Paddy so whatever you like is ok. Ireland is probably the most commonly used form so that is fine. By the way, all this banter in the Virtual Pub is keeping me awake at night, seems to stay open all night , just like our real pubs over here. Lol

ahhh, a pint of Irish guiness made with Liffey water and a vodka and red lemonade chaser....I used to go down to Kilmallock a lot with an old irish girlfriend (as in a long time ago, she was very young! LOL) and the bars were just out of this world.....I remember one where the counter was a coffin on legs, not for a feature but simply cos the owner was the undertaker and it was the easiest thing to use!

a beautiful country with some of the emptiest beaches I've ever seen...whats the offroading like?

That sounds about right, we still have a few bars like that. In fact my son works in a hardware store which is also an undertakers and they did have a pub attached until a couple of years ago. The off roading I'm not too sure about as my main use for my Terrano is hunting. There are some clubs but I don't have any contact details for them. Might make some enquiries from a guy who does this 4x4 stuff in quarries etc., he should know.

Hi Pajo, Sorry i have not been in contact with you before im in Longford, and was a mini meet on sunday (very MINI just 2) myself and Bluebull!

why not fill in your signature with your vehicle details. and if you PM me i might be able to sort you out with some decals for your motor.

Bri, yours will be same vintage as mine when SR was fairly basic intro model, built in
Spain for UK market on mass certainly not a grey or even a parallel but sold by Nissan
UK agents.

Can try to copy broucheure if you like, but not letting it out of my sight even if was
only few quid of a ebay dealer!

T'was later into 2003?+ that some parallels were marketed as SRs again.

When I say basic, perhaps intro level sounds better as most features were standard
only really missing out in ABS, roof rails and some trim/ICE.
