Could be anything as it is an aftermarket job. ie. not fitted by Nissan.
Possibly extra lamps on the front?

got no extra lamps on the front, a cloaking device would be handy tho, i'll try it at the next speed camera :lol

ill bet it used to have extra lamps fitted, like spot lights or something, perhaps they just removed them when sold? if you remove the plastic trim from under sthe steering (just a few screws) you will be able to see if there is a wire, and possibly trace it...

the switch is probably not a factory thing im fairly sure...

I think it engages the Klingon cloaking device.

I had one on my previous car, used it in a car park and had to report the car as lost or stolen as I couldn't find it again. :lol:lol

Is there a tow bar? maybe it energises one of the sockets on the 12S connector.
Tracing the wire may be the only option.
Certainly after market, might help if you find out when it is energised. ie what has to be on before it gets a supply to it.

When you find out you must tell us....
The suspence....

Is there any sockets in the boot?

Best idea to trace the wires, just hope who ever disconnected it if they have didn't leave any live wires hanging around.

I stuck a lightup rocker switch in one of the switch blanks, it feeds power to the spare pin in the 12s socket to switch my Beacon on and off. Beacon bolts on the roof bars and plugs in when I need it.

well i trace the wirs in the back to the battery, then from there they goto the sidesteps, nots actually connected to anything but by th looks of it they used to have lights on (i say used to one sidestep still does have a couple of small lights one at each end) so for whatever reason at somepoint someone thought that people would need the way into the truck lighting up at night in case they got lost :lol

i got a switch just like that, in orange..

for the CB..

i suppose then if i do add extra lamps (front or roof) at a later date i could use this switch and the wireing that is already in place?

its the rotax converter for the double hinged end piece

Was there a fuse in the circuit?

I didn't notice one but it was dropping dark and i'm not 100% if it actually goes through the fuse box as thats where the wires ran around.

I dont think it had neons lol there are 2 very small lights that look a bit like they may be spot lights for ants lol

i'll take some pics of them and get them on here will have to put something else in the pic tho to give perspective so u can tell how small they are.

the wires used to goto this little light on the sidesteps, there are 2 on each sidestep

Be nice if they came on when you use the remote control for say 10 seconds and stay on for 10 seconds after the doors open and close, then you can see where to put your feet in the dark.
I like those...
