hi there

new to the site so trying to upload pictures

went off roading this weekend with my new terrano. After constant micky taking from my work mates about how bad terranos were offroad i had to show them. I think i went a bit too far. I was against a landy 90 and a £150 suzi sj so i didnt want to let you lot down. However i now have massive power loss. i took the air filter out but no difference, and i gave the maf a wipe but hasn't changed i've got a feeling that its the turbo. so if anybody knows a quick way of checking to see if the turbo is functioning as it should, please let me know. the turbo is still caked in mud so i have a busy night ahead of me tomorrow

Was the air filter wet when you took it out, just wondering if you've sucked up some water :? I would check that all the turbo hoses are tight then disconect the MAF unit & take it for a spin to see if there is any difference as MAF units are funny little things some go slowly others very fast  If it is the MAF then it'll set you back about £45 from Nissan

but your welcome to try my maf on yours to see if your maf is dead. if it fits
im off tomorrow

I'll try that first sweety thanks, cheers for the offer extreme i may take you up on that. i'll have a look at it first to see what i can do.

sorry about the pics

i'd say its your maf
the air filter looks like it took the worst of it

try the maf on the airing cupboard for the night

oh and buy a snorkel quick

Nice one Huggy looks like you had a blast.
Where about in west wales are you?
I got a lot of greif off the landie boys when I got my maverick :?
Not anymore 8) the one I'd worry about is the suzy, they are brill 8O
Cheers and welcome

Did u remove bumper.

clearlly ... but just ask did you loose it or remove it

its the worst when they fall off , as you end up running your own bumper over

Easiest way to check the MAF is unplug it, no change and its goosed and by the pictures its well and truly unservicable.

Me thinks you need a snorkel

Terrano's are a match for any LR

i was amazed how wel my T2 went when off in the mud even with raod rubber bands on

i took the bumper off before hand, i knew it was going to get a hammering. no water inside, luckily.

i will say that the landy was running on standard suspension like myself but when we were climbing a big hill which was rutted it seemed to get up a lot smoother. we had almost the same tyres on. a took a couple of attempts, yes yes, i know what your all saying, 'driver error'

just done the unplug maf test and yes no difference thanks for the help i'll be taking a trip to nissan tomorrow, or maybe ebay, never delt with my local nissan dealer before.

oh yeah i'm near fishgaurd by the way
