My first question on here is a simple one for those that know
Is my maverick 96 engine exactly the same as on 96 terrano if there was change on the terrano what year did that happen, thanks in advance.:bow

Mavericks are Terrano mate :thumb2

There are subtle differences, the Mavs tend to have higher specs on things like radio/cd changer, trim, etc and most have the Zexell pump and Hitachi Maf, (leads to problems if say cps sensor fails yours will be on the timing cover Bosch will be on the bell housing No 1 injector is different as well) other than that they are the same, Rick

I reckon that he's got engine management lights and all sorts and I reckon he's trying to find a replacement ECU to replace it with BUT he can only find ones from Terrano's and is unsure what components are different.

Which is a fair shout as he might not have realised that the pumps and MAF's are different etc

I've gone full detective mode as well

solarman was close I got my Mav last January & thanks to this forum going through most of the posts i get things done, main problem is the crankshaft sensor, i have trawled the net for a new one to no avail, nissan quoted £388 then took it down to £270 cos age of motor. I rewired it before & it lasted 3 months without fault, just rewired again cutting as close to sensor as poss.
If I go the used root I will have to get one from a mav not a terrano ?
