Hi I have a terrano 11 1998 2.7tdi 2 weeks ago had a power loss with blue smoke had diagnostic which showed faulty injection pump code 21. have now had injection pump replaced 15miles trouble free loss of power blue smoke HELP?

Hi

Check the air inlet duct and air filter are unblocked and clean.

Remember to check the wire mesh filter on the air flow meter assembly.

Remove the air flow sensor and check it is clean and dust free. This is a problem with T2 I use electric cleaner and lint free cloth. small spec of dirt can give major problems.

DIESEL TREATMENT Millers power plus. is a product i use in tank.

Could just be a poor batch of diesel.

Thanks Glen
i think i understand what you are saying, but if you have a landline i can contact you on it would be a help. i do understand if you don't want to put it on line but if you give me ring on 01243 375044 and give me yours i will ring you straight back. should there be a gause over the grill of the air flow meter or just the wire mesh and it seems this problem is not there on first starting, it just seems to come in after a short period of time. is there another filter between tank and filter
cheers Bob

Sorry didn't make myself clear...when I say workshops I mean workshop walkthroughs with photographs of procedures involved in carrying out the two 'workshop' checks.

Click the links in my previous post and an adobe document should open up for you.

These documents are the 'workshops'

If you do have a mini filter fitted on yours like I found I had it's in the banjo bolt which secures the fuel line onto the injection pump. The download on this will show you how to get to it, but you will have to lok inside the banjo bolt instead of the injection pump. If it is there you can try & clean it as the download says but I drilled mine out so I did'nt have to bother with it again  but it did take alot of time to make sure I had removed all the metal swarf as if any had got into the pump it would have killed it :(

Sorry for not getting back on nights

Glen
