Has any one got any info on pre heaters, been on the net today and only really found Kenlowe at £300. Has any one got one fitted to there mav and is it worth the money

Cheers
Tony

was on my shopping list but never got round to it, been such a good
starter and winter so mild recently not bothered.

tbh always fancied one of those ebaspacher? heaters that uses fuel
and forms almost central heating for car. guess bit like sleeper cab
heaters. thought would be great sitting in car on a cold day at an
event, top dollar though, for little use likely to get would be cheaper
leaving motor running.

with plug ins have to be parked on drive really, and i often street park
plus motor nearly as cold at end of shift at work and no where to plug
in there!

Tony, mate of mine had a kenlowe electric pre heater years ago in his escort. It was superb 8)

Never quite got around to one for myself but from what I remember it was great.

Did I mention I liked it :?:

I too like the idea of preheaters but they do cost a lot of money. We have had an extension built, bedrooms upstairs but a huge car port underneath. At first I wasn't sure if it was a waste of space. It has turned out to be great, in and out of the cars in the dry but best of all no ice on the windows which also means they don't mist up as easily either. So this renders the use of a preheater almost useless other than the car still has to warm up but even that doesn't seem to take as long.

Must say I do miss te heated windscreen I had in my last sierra - they really are worth having when its cold. Engine preheaters not so sold on, expensive to buy and I suspect expensive to run these days too. Remote starting so your truck can be warning up whilst you're still inside is probably cheaper and easier to do.

I agree about the heated windscreen Hummingbird, my own mondeo had one and it was brilliant. I dont know why other manufacturers dont adopt them.

We use hired Vectras and Mondeos a lot at work and on a cold morning or rainy day theres absolutely no comparison.

I once had a hire Mondeo which had one but only needed it once, did it's job great. The only problem I found was the elements got in the way a bit but I'm guessing it's something that you get used to.

Yeah you stop noticing them after a few hours as I had heated screens on my last escort & mondeo. TBH I think they should be fitted to all cars

I went through a phase of having 2.0 dohc manual Granada's for a couple of years, great family wagons and mile munchers, (once overtook an Intercity 125 train where the track runs next to the M5 ! ) These all had heated front screens and mirrors, brilliant for cold / damp mornings.

I had one on a Old Granada. The heated windscreen was great and yes after a while you didn't notice the wires.

The train was only doing about 85 mph, but it sounds cool !
