Engine management light

When the previous owner of my newly aquired Terrano ruined the engine the engine management light must have come on.Is there anyway I can re-set it without going to the stealers now that I have rebuilt and got the Terrano up and running again.

yup.

there is a guide in the downloads section. but, get a paper clip, join CHK and IGN on the diags port under the fuse box by your right knee. Switch ignition on, bridge the two points, wait, then disconnect this will flash all the codes. now re bridge the two points again, wait 2 seconds, disconnect the two, turn ignition off. thats it. the download instructions are much clearer though.

Used to read the fault codes using that type of method with a paper clip on a Vauxhall Senator I once had.
