Engine management light

Hi all.
I have a chance of a Maverick 2005 . 2ooo XLT.
The only problem is the Engine management light stays on.
The Mav runs fine no problems.
It has been to ford but they aint got a clue.
Any help before I spend any money. :!: :!: :!:

engine malfuntion light

could be water in the fuel filter trap but this normally just flickers on and off.has it had a good service recently?
did they not plug it in to their magic machine.if the light is on it will have registered a fault so it would show on a diagnostic test.

Will find out what work they done on it. As far as i know they said they checked it. But could not find anything wrong.
But the light is still on.

Get it taken to Nissan, when they go wrong thats what Ford do. Oh wait a minute is that the new shape Mav (Mazda)? If its been plugged in they will know whats wrong.

It could be a number of sensors, depending on which one is the cost of repair 8O.

When I got Trol, light came on and off a few times 8O here we go I says. Took to Nissan plugged in the light was off at this point and they told me it was throttle position sensor and it 1st happened 17 starts ago. Unplugged and a blast of air replugged and all was well.
