Engine Check Light after stalling 96' Mav

Hi Guys

I'm still getting used to my Mav and have stalled it a few times and have noticed that when I do I get the "Check Engine" light illuminate until I turn the engine off and wait for five mins.

The car doesn't behave any differently when it's illuminated but I was just wondering why this was coming on :s ?

The Engine Check Light can also be switched on by a switch in the fuel filter; excess of water I believe.

I have found that my engine check light comes on if I stall, but it goes off if you turn the ign switch completely off for a moment and then back on and its gone. regards bri

Yep that's exactly what I do
