i know, i know, its been covered, and i have read countless posts and i have read the downloads but I want to run this past you guys in my own way!

Ok, so recently i got mi Mav fixed at last, and so far I hav etaken it out about 5 times, all well, slowly gaining confidence.

now then, I always promised myself that when i fixed it, i'd start playing a bit, and I fancied doing this EGR mod, as I have got one (brass round thing at back of engine, tube leads off to air box attached to two more pipes)

ok, I read its good to simply block the pipe and re attach, but I am not sure I am understanding the instructions correctly. Do I remove the pipe EGR side back of engine, stuff something in there to block it then re attach, or do I do something to the pipes the tube attaches to near the air filter??

I am just curious to know if this mod will make a difference? I am used to driving my v6 mazda, which goes very fast indeed, so I have NO point of comparison apart from my old Fourtrak, the Mav seems ok, I just wonder if I can improve things a bit.

I am doing a 10k boost to it this weekend probably, thought i would do the egr valve if you guys can point me in the right direction.

cheers!!

You can block the actuating pipe from the soloniod with a ball bearing, then pop the tube back on if you like, but it doesnt actually -block- the EGR valve, which can leak (and often do)

Best practice is to remove the one end of the EGR tube from the inlet manifold (yes i know its not that easy) and fashion a solid plate to go under it thus blocking the flow entirely.
