EGR Valve

Ok, I know this has been covered countless times, but i cant fin any help specific to my MAV. Basically I want to know if I have an EGR valve or not. Problem is I dont know what to look for. Drivers side of engine, at the back, I can see a brass wotsit with a rubber pipe coming off it, could that be it? So if you look at the intercool inlet that side, where theres anther brass device that operates the open/close of the inlet, its furthur back under some pipes. I read that its a good idea to remove the poipe and block it?

If you have the link pipe that comes around the back of the head from the exhaust manifold, then yes you have EGR.

Don't know if there is a fool proof way of recognising the pipe but if you have a look in the downloads section of the site under "EGR Valve, 2.7TD Models" there are some pics and other info that might help.

Eyup Jim, no, I don't think it's buggered, it's just with me having the intercooler off, I am trying to sort anything else, and I read that these cars are better off without egr. Now I know I have it, I'm blocking it!
