EGR valve

ok, so all this talk of EGR valves has got me thinking, I want to do mine properly using the gasket. Now, how can I go about this, buy a gasket, or make one? I'm definately just a basic DIYer, so can i just get anyold thin bit of steel, cut to shape with my cheap jigsaw, and bolt in place?

i have a stainless and a mild steel one but can make more on the lazer when i want one so take your pick

Hay, can u make them for the 2.7td ones without the intercooler? My terrano isn't as posh as clive's mav:augie

What if I take a EGR off one of my scrap terranos and send you it?:nenau

you could do that but it might be cheeper to buy the blank plate of ebay.. of cut up a sweet tin like some of the others...
but i will make one if you wish..

Martin, thanks for the offer mate, thats very good of you. I dont think the one in the ebay listing is correct, I have already spoken to that chap!!

if you are able to cut us some up, that would be very awesome, and I will be more than happy to pay you for it. Not sure how to get an accurate diagram to you though, unless I can quickly get my egr removed at the weekend?!

ill make a few to your drawing.. do a good detailed drawing and take a picture its got to have


the size of the holes
the distance from the CENTRE of 1 hole to the other
the with
and length
i cant gaurante ally or stainless but they will be cut in one of the other..

when you taken your picture upload to photobucket and put it on here and i can get it at work next week..

ones i have it on the machine i can do them at my leisure for postage money ( while i own a nissan).

got to be cheeper than posting me your egr valve

nice one Larson, youre a gent. I am off "shooting" on Sunday, but if I get chance tomorrow ill see if I can either find a drawing, or remove my EGR unless someone on the club has one handy they can sketch around?

I made mine from thin sheet copper, easy to work, punch bolt holes with steel ball over steel with right sized hole, hit hard with hammer, trim excess with knife after fitting, no problem, ali beer can will do the same job, Rick
