egr valve set up

Hi my mate has a ford maverick 2,7 circa 1999 and was wondering weather to remove egr valve set up. Mine ,although the same vehicle, has not got one any way. My wife's car is a landrover disco td5 and i removed this on hers and it made a great difference to the overall performance has any one done it on a terrano or maverick Cheers Mark

I think the EGR is specific to the TD and a 98/99 plate Mav would be a TDi.

egr or abs

Yeah both are 1999 reg turbo diesel with intercooler engine but i have noticed he has a solenoid sort of thing on his manifold but this is not fitted to mine, in fact the manifold has not envan been machined out to take one. Only difference is his has abs mine does'nt so maybe its somthing to do with that

Can you post a pic? Is this gizmo right a the back of the engine by any chance with a rubber tube coming off it over towards the air box? My original response might be a tiny bit inaccurate!

my mav dont have one ..... so dont know

but his dont either, so if he not got one he might have a job removing it anyway

well he just might....Dornes 99 hasn't got one but my 02 has (right at the back of the cylinder head), and I bunged up the rubber pipe to f*ck it LOL

but its his mate hes asking about? thats why I asked if hes got a suspect object at the back of the cylinder head? is not clear if his mate actually has one or not?
