No cons.
Just remove it and get 2 blanks made from 5mm plate, bolt them on with copper rtv
hi JOhn,
its not hard, its fiddly, copper RTV as in this:
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/1709...ixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla&crdt=0
removing the egr, is a bit awkward, but perfectly doable with the right tool. Youll be needing a long extension bar for your socket set, and some patience...:thumbs
Thanks again, top man :thumbsyeah...maybe I under exaggerated, it is a bastard fiddly job-but the JOY that thrusts forth from inside when you get that EGR out is great!
anyhoo, yes you can buy the blanking plates, but they don't seem popular on ebay. I made my own-bought some 5mm steel from ebay such as this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150mm-x-1..._Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item2ec6b6840b
removed EGR, drew around the area I wanted to blank. used a super duper jigsaw blade and crudely cut the basic shape, then took my angle grinder to the rest. Decent drill bit will sort the two bolt holes and voila.
You may be able to get some from members on here, Larson might even be able to make you some-drop him a PM.
