EGR blanker on ZD30DDTI Terrano engine

Has anyone got experiance of blanking off the EGR valve on the 3.0L Terrano?
Something like this: eBay item number:110895925128. Will it cause the EML to come on, as this alone will be an MOT fail, or any other comments?
I fancy doing this BEFORE I get any problems rather than waiting untill it's too late LOL.

To be honest bud if the ZD30 is running fine I wouldn't touch it - if you check the reference doc blanking the EGR is one of the mods that can cause overboost.

Can this happen on a terrano as I've got a problem with over boost and I have done the egr mod in my 2004 terrano 2.7 Tdi cheers

To be honest bud, I don't know about the 2.7 :nenau I just know from reading the ZD30 ref doc that blocking the EGR can cause overboost in the 3.0.

If EGR blocking can cause overboost in one type of engine though I don't see why it couldn't cause it in another?

Cheers pall, whats interesting is that it's only started overboosting since I had it remaped as I blocked the egr valve of a good few months ago, and infact it's now giving the power of the 3 ltr after the remap ? But I don't know if that's got anything to do with it. I didn't remove the egr I just did the ball bearing trick
as shown in the download section.

I didn't remove the egr I just did the ball bearing trick as shown in the download section.

Did you put the ball bearing in next to the EGR & is your EGR on the rear drivers side of the engine ?

Hi mate, I put the ball bearing in the pipe over buy the air filter as it was easy to get to and yes the egr is o the bac of the engine on the drivers side.
