What's the real likely hood of ECU damage from years of welding ? It may have been a flat battery a lot of the time but not always disconnected
Also can it fail or go into a limp mode of sorts if it's not been powered up for a long time ?
Wondering as I'm not getting any engine management light when sensors are disconnected ?
Rewiring the the Black Pearl is a little tedious to say the least :augie

Does it start and run?

I fryed an ecu on mine once :doh

Well it was running but now it aint :nenau
Ran out of fuel, re-primed etc but not a sausage
I have changed injectors as one was a bit rough . Fuel is through and squirting out of every glow plug hole when cranking ( I had them out to do comp test ).
I hope I've just got a wire gremlin somewhere

Most odd as the only way the electrics/ECU can stop the engine is by shutting fuel, but you say you have fuel to the cylinders, then it should start, what happens if you crack an injector pipe? you should get small squirts of fuel if not then you need to check your bleeding and or the stop solenoid, is it Bosch or Zexell, Rick

Rick, yes I've cracked each injector and got fuel a squirting nicely ;)
It's Zexell system.

Then if you have compressions it must start, but check your glow plugs are working, Rick

Yep, on my list to recheck.
Back to basics for a bit on Monday me thinks.
Off to see Massive Attack this weekend :naughty
