driver window

hi, just a quick question, my dad has got a 52 plate terrano and drivers window has stopped working, i havent really looked at it yet but just wondered if there is any fuses or simple things i should check, its not making a noise when you press the button, just wondered if its a common thing or is there a fuse anywere or could it be the motor or the switch? :thumbs

Zippy you are getting slow, all of 2 minutes.

Ginna, if you remove the door card you will see a black relay unit just above and to the rear of the internal door close handle, if you can solder, remove this and resolder the pins to the board, it is a common problem they break away, a simple test but does not always work if several pins are bad, is while pressing the down or up button if window is down, and while pressed thump the door card where the relay is if it now works then you have found the fault, if not it could be the motor on the regulator failed, to test this use a 12v battery on the two motor connector pins one way round for up, tother way round for down, simples, Rick

my NS rear don't work at mo..

no only the drivers door as this has the auto function, quick flip and it goes all the way down, if the rear does not work from the console and the door switch then test the motor as Ginna post, if motor OK then bad switch on console as they route the power to the door switch, Rick
