Hi all

I have been given different info regarding the drive belts on my car by two nissan dealers. One says all the belts are the same size which I know is wrong, as far as I know the pas belt is ribbed, the alternator and air con belt are the same with different part numbers. I had an alternator belt fitted by green flag a few months ago but he put the new belt on the air con and moved the air con belt to the alternator, (he told me the belts were the same size,I pressume it was easier for him to fit the belts this way) I was charged 5 quid for the belt but my local dealer wants £19.00 for one. I have given my chassis number to the 2 dealers who have given me different part numbers, my car is a 2000 2.7Tdi. Can anybody advise the best place to get spare belts. I am informed the belts changed in 1997 :?:

great link thanks, got a new one and an extra one. mine broke saturday..

Hi Iano TBH I find this a bit strange:confused: I have a 1999 model & both the PAS & Alernator belt are the same size & my local parts shop only had 1 size listed:rolleyes:I don't have air con so don't know what size that will be:augie As for some belts being ribbed it's really down to make the belts so I would'nt go off that:)
If it helps I fitted 2 Dayco Sectoflex belts on mine & the part number is- 13A1150C & if you pull the belt tight into an oval the inside measurment from bend to bend is roughly 20.5"

just bought 2 belts today and they are the same size, and we checked the book in shop and it says same belts, *** 1150 iirc, cost me £10.00 for two. :thumb2

Are any of these belts a pain to swap? I'm thinking of some preventative maintenance here! :naughty

oh dear, thats another job for the weekend then! Thanks for the info guys!

I have just had my 2.7 td serviced, and was told that all three belts will need to be replaced,
and he said it will need to be in all day!.
I would rather do it my self, is it a difficult job? will it really take all day?.

the AA man did one of mine in 30 mins or so, Id guess to do the other two wouldn't take much longer
