drainage under windscreen

Are there drain plugs or any thing under wind screen as I'm getting water dripping in passenger foot well where fan join pollen filter on my 2002 Terrano

Just thought id ask be for removing scuttle panel

Theres a access plate at the passengerside under the scuttle panel. Needs removing, cleaning and sealing. Heard of it loads of times and my 05 plate had the issue but must of been happening for ages because it ruined the bearings on the blower.
So remove those pesky wiper arms and then the plastic scuttle and you'll see the panel. I lubed the wiper pivots at the same time to stop squeaks.

My heater seems to squeek a little on setting 2 for some reason :doh

Yep similar to mine.

Strange thing is that on my 05 plate truck when the scuttle was lifted the passenger side had the panel but the driverside didn't have a panel. Removed the scuttle on my 99 project truck and that has a panel on the driverside.
Once you remove the passenger side access panel it is open straight into the heater with a small lip around the aperture. I guess another small cost saving by nissan.

Yes great advice, it's the lower left fixing bolt, looking at it from the front, that is the main culprit.
Remove plate, loads of sealant between plate and body, and even more around the screw fixings and a bit on top around the screw heads.

Symptoms are... if you have rubber mats, the water is dripping onto them from above.

Took Bigbunny ages to remove on my 05 plate but my 99 project took seconds:nenau. When I refitted both they got a smear of copper slip on the splines:thumb2

But yeah these forums are great and have to say of all the forums I'm a member of this one has been the most helpful by far:clap

I found that, but I made a wiper arm remover using a piece of thick steel strip, a vice, and some will like the next bit... a big hammer:augie , and an M8 bolt and a couple of nuts.

we had an XJ 351 recently at work, the screen cracked whilst we were near the bulkhead working :doh then again... it is Jaguar (the brother of Land Rover)

In my opinion, It is quite satisfactory to cite LR in it's full name when it is bad news lol...
If it is good news, especially for an LR, like just completing a 200 mile run without breaking down, or having to top up the oil more than once, then abbreviations are essential lol..

Here we are then...
The metal strip is a piece of galvanised strip from wickes, the sort to hold roofs trusses down to the wall.

The strip is threaded M8 and the bolt, needed to be a long M8 bolt, but the double lock nut worked well, and the knob on the end just speeded up the process and is not essential.
10 minutes to make lol... Just one small "G" clamp really...

Luckily everything on mine seems to come undone really nicely all removed and see why it was leaking doh. Must stop wading in deep water lol



Took it all apart cleaned thoroughly and silicone every where back together. Fingers crossed that's got the blighter lol

That'll of got it. Amazing how much crud collects in there isn't it. You can see what I mean about being open at the driverside.

It was to hand rather than cut a length off yet another length of 8 mm all thread.

It realy works too. It doesn't take much. but better than pulling it by hand, as Alex suggested, the bending on the metal work could just be enough to crack a windscreeen. Good tip and warning there from Alex.:thumb2

You see Alex, as you get older and gain more experience, and read or hear about things that might go wrong, or indeed have gone wrong, you are then able to use that knowledge, or pass on your experience.
I'm sure several members will remember that tip. :clap:clap

Talking of Tips...
If you use something like the wiper puller that I made, leave a few threads on the loose nut, other wise when it pops, the arm could scratch the bonnet.:thumb2
