I have an intermittent fault with my Terrano II the passenger and rear lock activate automatically for no particular reason. the doors have then to opened manualy .I do not have an operational remote system but activate all the door locks from the drivers side.Any ideas where I can start looking.
Thank you.

Sounds like a short circuit in the wiring to me...and on a 16-year old truck, lord knows where to start looking.....there are wiring diagrams in the online manual but they are specific to the facelift really (its a 2002 manual) so may be different from older vehicles, but at least they would be a starting point.....

on my 2000 patrol the the remote, one click opens drivers door an second click
is needed to unlock others. handy to prevent anyone else getting in uninvited.

BUT dont recall this feature on my 96 terrano2.

maybe a fault maybe a feature. is the tailgate doing the same, atleast
would suggest a certain consistency?

Not a cure but imagine if CL is playing up each door lock could be disconnected
from loom and then be a traditionally manually locked car. not ideal but a stop
gap whilst sorting.

but on both cars, have found if any of the would be passengers touch the handle
outside whilst unlocking is taking place it all locks up, so could be this over
sensitive. then have to tell them to stand back whilst lock again with remote and
then double unlock. great fun.
