We have found a house and hope to have the keys in the next few days.
The ex-council house has never had a phone line from BT or a VM connection.
I am looking at getting a Dongle so we can use our laptops for the next 6-9 months.
Any advice please as to make, price and who is the best provider - I assume I have to pay for a service from someone.
We only use the Internet for Banking , this site & for the wife facebook. I have no idea how much date we use in Giga Whatsits. We dont watch TV of download music etc.

The only Hot Spot I know of is nothing to do with the Internet. lol

Can't you use your mobile as hotspots? Most smartphones should do this and it'll cost you an increase in data usage.
My last dongle was Huawei, and worked fine. Service provider will depend on who has best service.

As Simon said, Hotspot on your phone sounds like a winner just be aware your battery will deplete very very quickly, your phone will get rather warm too and watch those Gigabytes of data, you soon eat them

All I use is the mobile network, first thing you need to check is who provides the best service, a good strong phone signal is not necessarily a good data signal and vice a versa, once you have that info, time to shop around for the best deal, if you do not do video streaming etc then 5 gig per month will be ample, I for instance have a tablet on EE with 10 gig for internet only, £15 per month, I also have my mobile on 02 unlimited calls, unlimited text and 25 gig for £25 and no land line, so when one goes down I switch to the other, does not happen often but, but it does happen, the other networks are useless here, Rick
