Hi I have bought a 2nd hand dog guard which I think may be an original Nissan accessory. It mounts under the head rests which is fine. It also has two brackets which drop down the back of the seat and need screwing/bolting to the seat back. Anyone know what the fitting in to the seat back is? Do I use screws or bolts in to the seat frame or is there a ready made fitting?

Hi

Same Problem I used some things from work with thread in it , not sure what they are called use it like a pop riveter think its used when holes become over sized it cripps in, drill hole in back of seat fit the rivit thing, used a camping eye plastic to make the hloe look tidy did not want to use stud because it could stick in your legs.

Been watching one of these on ebay, how sturdy are they with just the head rest fittings used?
Would want it to be easy to remove for when I need the 7 seats

Excellent bit of kit :thumb2 I've always had dogs and therfore dog guards. The Nissan article is excellent.

Head rests out, 2 screws and tilt the seats to remove/refit. Rattle free and sturdy in use (had a table fastened to it in the boot on monday.......dont ask :augie I wouldnt use it without the screws fitted.

A nut like a rivet Guess what... They are called "Rivnuts" or that may be a brand name..
When I first used them I kept squeezing till it "popped" and broke the threaded mandril, the secret is to squeeze them just enough .. Then unscrew the mandrill (theaded tool). It leaves a good solid thread in thin metal. You can fit them with a piece of "all thread" a washer and a nut
insert the all thread, place a washer over the thread and tighten a nut to squeeze the rivnut.
When secure remove the all thread....
