gearbox doesnt arrive untill tuesday , but we dont know when on tuesday , so we are just sorting stuff out , well im trying to help , but its bluddie cold in here

You need to remove the fascia around radio and switches.
Remove ashtray and look upwards you'll see 2 screws in the ashtray hole and another two screws under the top edge of the fascia panel above radio.
Panel should then pull off, you'll probably need to unplug the switches at this point.
Down the sides of the radio there are some brackets that are holding the radio in with screws. These brackets are also screwed to the side of the radio, sometimes the new radios may have correct mounting holes to put these brackets back on to the new radio. If not you'll have to refit the fascia and insert a DIN Cage.
