hi guys finally taking the plunge and getting a bigger more powerful winch

but i'll need a winch plate made up i dont really want to go down the road of a full metal bumper i still want to keep my original bumper.

ive had a quote from a local fabricator but he wants £250 for it which i think is a little steep? can anyone point me in the right direction?

as i live in surrey all the business's i go to think coz its surrey we'll charge 5 times what it should cost !

That's more than a whole bumper ffs:doh
I'll ask the bloke down the road here and see, but cant be more than 125 ish I'd have thought :D

for a winch plate under £100 I would of thought, Being as my whole winch bumper cost me £160 ish delivered!

.

thanks guys any help would be great as i may live in surrey but im not lucky enough to be one of the stockbrokers:lol !!

but i am tempted by getting the full winch bumper at £160 ish

would your bumper fit a lwb fez ?

does the £160 include the winch mount ?

The winch mount is an integral part of the bumper :thumb2
6mm thick and powder coated in black or black  LWB tick ;)

I'd whip your bumper off and have a look if there is room for a tray + decent winch.

Thats forward by a few cms on the bumper but it's close.

Also forgot to mention, You also don't get a front skid plate but aslong as your carefull you won't knock the crossmember? think its called that. I plan on asking a local blacksmith to make me one.

You also have to cut a few bits in front of the radiator.

Make sure your insurance will allow the mod too. Would be a pain if you did all the work and spent £££ then to be told they won't let you insure it.

Cut on the small red lines as the winch tray part of the bumper is about 1-2cm from the radiator.

thanks fez for the pictures but i think i may have a problem as i have air con and would like to keep it as i do alot of towing and at 50mph in the summer in france i like to stay cool

I spoke to Andy this evening on another matter but asked him about the winch tray bit. It would a piece of P to do as it's basically the central bit of the bumper anyway.
Fez I think he's got his templates incomplete, as you shouldn't need to be cutting it at all. Also there is room for it with A/C
All that said if Nik took his truck to Andy he'd have it custom done anyway. It's only up the road :thumbs

Well had to cut stuff to fit, also had to cut a small section out the left side for the steering idler?

Me thinks I'll ring him again and get these "cutting" niggles sorted out
