My Terrano has suddenly become very sluggish when trying to start. Discovered today that someone has done a real bodge job and repaired the positive cable at some point in the past. They'd soldered [very badly] a couple of inches of much thinner cable to the positive cable just where it comes out of the wiring loom above the engine. This was getting very hot and was breaking down!
So, I'm hoping this is the cause of my problem! What I want to know is if I can just connect a whole length of new cable straight down to the starter? And, secondly, anybody know what amperage the cable is please? It's VERY thick - 15 or 16mm OD! [bit like me really!]Thanks to anybody who may be able to help!
