Distributor

Hi I have bent a con rod on my 1998 2.4 petrol so have bought a second hand engine from ebay. The engines both look identical apart from the distributors on my old engine it has 4 leads going to the spark plugs and a plug in lead. On the new engine it has 5 leads. Can I swap the distributors over?

Can only get pics with them still on engines is that ok? I cant seem to get them to come off at the min and its freezin

do you mean your new engine has 5 plug leads, should be 4 with one ht lead to coil. :thumbs

New engine has 4 plug leads and 1 to the coil yes. But my old engine only has 4 plug leads no coil lead

Thats the one on the engine in the car at the moment. 4 ht leads then a plug

This is the one from the new engine 5 leads but no plug.

You will have to swap Dizzy's else it's not gunna work!

As you can see (or will if you remove the cap) the new engine has the Coil pack mounted on the dizzy, and the wiring to match...

So if i just swap them over it will be fine? How do they come off usually they just pull off once the 2 bolts are out but these will not move.
