As long as your registered before 1 March 2006 the two higher bands don't apply bud.

My Trols just taxed per engine size due to its age, £267.75 for the year :D

panic over.on autotrader they have put the new higher rates for some reason though.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they do eventually increase ours in line with the higher banding though. The government are in a corner and the only way they know out of it is to tax the hell out of people. Other taxes came in yesterday as an example the so called sugar tax on sugary drinks, it’s not health benefits as the sugar replacements are even worse but a simple revenue earner that also looks good. Plastic bottle tax will be an awesome one too, the media use examples of seas full of plastic but I’ve yet to see a news bulletin showing plastic in the same amount around our shore line. Cutting our use of plastic will not effect the seas that have been used as examples. I’m not saying we should not think of the environment at all but I do believe our governments are not applying green taxes for the environment at all it is just to fill up the coffers.

Rant over sorry guys.

As someone who in a previous job.....litter picked almost professionally....cleaning up after the lazy visiting public, and shoreline/beach properties, I have a huge bug about litter.

Jim has made some good points, but sadly, there is a lot of plastic littering our seas and shoreline. When we visit our local beaches on Gower for a walk, we carry large bags which we fill with plastic waste, fishing line, trawl offcuts etc. for disposal...ironically in bins that probably go to a landfill site.....:doh

I wholeheartedly agree with a bottle deposit system, but also rebel at all the so called 'green' taxes levied, that simply feed government coffers...

I don't have an answer...does anybody really......:nenau

We sowed the plastic crop.....now we a reaping a very dubious harvest....

Correct though expect regular increases each budget of £10-15 per year.
