January 31st 2011 - Gearbox looses 3rd gear
February 12th 2011 - Bought the White Pearl off Ian Douglas
( was going to restore it but now needing the gearbox )
February 15th 2011 - Get the gearbox out of the White Pearl
February 16th 2011 - Get the gearbox out of Dirty Frog
February 17th 2011 - Put new clutch in Dirty Frog & put the White Pearls gearbox in
February 21st 2011 - Rear axle shuddering & locking
February 22nd 2011 - Made 1 rear axle out of 2
February 23rd 2011 - Gearbox taken back out of Dirty Frog
February 28th 2011 - Gearbox from a 2001 60000 mile terrano arrives
March 14th 2011 - Gearbox going into Dirty Frog & then being road tested by may mate & if it is ok will get it back on 18th or 19th of March.
Gearbox 1 - Bearings had collapsed & shaft warn heavily plus a crack in the bell housing = scrap
Transferbox 1 = ok
Gearbox 2 - same as gearbox 1 ( but housing ok )
Transferbox 2 - seized
Axle 1 - 1/2 full with water & bearings collapsed
Will report back next weekend with good news hopefully
Now an expert in taken the gearboxs out :augie ( with NO grinder )
Also resetting the torsion bar is easy
