diff oil

I have a question, I'm doing all the fluids and checking around it appears the rear axle on the 2004-2005 patrol uses 85-w140 but if it has LSD it needs to be LSD oil, how do i know if i have an LSD as spinning one wheel on mud still drives me forward such is the awesomeness of a patrol.
Also i watched some dude on Youtube changing his transfer box oil with ATF which seemed odd as i thought it was 80W90 gear oil, any thoughts?

I was under the impression that if the patrol has no diff lock from factory it will have an LSD.
If it has a factory diff lock then it won't.
Very common to use ATF in the transfer box:thumb2

Jack a rear wheel up off the ground, take the handbrake off and put it in neutral, try and spin the wheel that's off the ground, if you can spin it it's an open diff, if you really really can't turn the fecker then it's an lsd.

Or even better jack both wheels off the floor, handbrake off, in neutral, spin a wheel. If the other wheel spins in the same direction it's an lsd, if it spins the other way it's an open diff.

All Trols sold in the UK had a rear difflock instead of an LSD, so unless your Trol is an import it won't be LSD. You should have a switch for the difflock at the bottom of the centre console, in front of the gearstick and transfer lever.

If you have the factory auto hubs then it's recommended to use ATF in the transfer box as if you have the standard gear oil and the outside temperature is low the turbulence in the oil in the transfer box from normal driving can cause the front prop to slowly turn which then causes your auto hubs to momentarily engage (you hear a brrrrrrrr clunk).

ATF is thinner so filling the transfer box with ATF stops the issue (this was Nissan's official fix). If you have manual hubs you can use the normal gear oil.
