bloody hell.

ok, oils, have they been done?

next, codes, have you pulled the codes? does your EML work?

next, id be checking the plugs/switches underneath along the gear box-are they connected and in good nick?

I have not worked much on the patrol, but it is different to the Terrano, it has a diff lock on the rear axle, I assume that putting it in low automatically engages the front wheels, and again I do not know if you have an intermediate diff (front to rear), but I do not think so, so my assumption is that in low and with the rear diff lock on you have wound up the transmission and unwinding it for the low box and diff lock to disengage takes some work and perseverance, but I will be corrected if I am wrong I am sure, Rick

Patrol 4x4 problem

The patrol is two wheel drive to the rear only. Engaging 4wd couples the front axle but as there is no central differential don't do it on the road. There are two positions for the fwd lever, fwd high range, pull the lever straight back, fwd low range, pull the lever straight back and then depress it and pull back again. When going back to 2wd, press down and push forward to 4wd high range, release the lever and push forward again for 2wd. The mistake I made was to keep pressing the leaver down which makes it immpossible to get out of 4wd high range. The diff lock some times sticks a bit but usually come out ok, try switch it on and off a few times when you are in the car, it may never have been used before!

it apears theres a pipe broke near the rear axel.. dont know were it goes to but it just needs a new pipe aparently as they work on air. not very high preasure...
