Does anyone know the internal diameter of the spill off pipes on the injectors for the 2.7tdi?

I've brought some clear pipe but it's the wrong internenal diameter for the fuel filter pipes, it's 8mm in total diameter and 5mm internal diameter

Was thinking of using this for the spill off pipes as I'm sure my Fiesta was 5mm when I did those, I really can't be bothered to take it back

3.2mm is the standard size. Soften the end in a cup of boiling water slip straight on.

I think 3.2mm is too small. I initially tried to use 3mm and it was never going to fit.
I used 6mm O/D and 4mm I/D and I had to use a heat gun on mine to get them to strech over.

See my post >>>http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18914

and my other post how to guide to fit them >>> http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18971

if you have it loose it will pull air in and run rough . that happen to me when mine started to leak

Can't remember the size but got my pipe from halfrauds, mine was a pig of a job to do as it still had the factory spill pipe fitted & they snapped off just above the nipples so had to cut them off, the clips caught on the injectors & 2 clips snapped so used cable ties:augie from No 1 injector down to the pump is so much fun to do:augie Did them on my 1999 T2 & didn't have the trouble i've had with this one:doh

I think I may have caused some confusion with my post. Let me clarify:

If you are replacing the rubber lined leak of pipes with the same material, then 3.2mm I/D will stretch and is the correct size.

I was replacing the original pipe with Nylon pipe because I run WVO/BIO and this eats through rubber quickly, but nylon pipe will not stretch to the same extent as rubber and therefore 4mm ID is required. Even at 4mm ID you must heat up the ends.

I experimented with a few different sizes of nylon before I found 4mm to be best.

In conclusion - if you are only running diesel replace with rubber lined at 3.2mm
- if you run or intend to run BIO/WVO replace with Nylon at 4.0mm

Mine have run leak free for the last 10k miles.

:thumb2 Got a link for Nylon pipe?

Right I'm outside now about to replace these, am I right in thinking the intercooler needs to be removed to get to the injectors? If so is it just as easy as whipping the 4 corner bolts off?

Yes and Yes... oh and undoing the 2 black flexible pipes into and out of the inter cooler... Make sure you stuff a rag down each of the holes, too easy to drop something down them, and then you are in trouble....

Oh, and mark the top cowling on the inter cooler, before you remove that, I found it easier to get to the big bolts without that in the way, but it is not immediately obvious which way it goes back on.

On mine the black hoses were clipped on with those spring clips, which can be awkward to get back. You might have big jubilee's.

I've done spill off pipes before on my 1.8 Endurade DE Fiesta and they were easy peasy

I just wanted to replace them as I had a lot of problems with my Fiesta and wanted to be preventative with the Mav as thats what caused me to get rid of the fiesta :(

Well, while the Intercooler is off I'm going to check voltage across my plugs and rail :)

Not got any issues but worth a check while I'm in there

I wish someone had realised I didn't have rubber ones before I dismantled the car lol

Oh well we live and learn however I have managed to replace my fuel filter return and feed for the clear tubing I brought last week :) I'll post pics later
