Hi All

As I went to Somerset over this weekend I decided to do an MPG test on my car as never done it.

So. I filled the tank on Thursday evening.

Left for Somerset on Friday morning.

Average speed all the way to Somerset was 65 MPH - I was trying to be economical lol.

Then I obviously did a lot of country driving with lots of speed changes between 20-50 MPH.

So with the main journey down and all the country driving its actually a pretty accurate average MPG test.

Total Miles before fill up again (tank wasnt empty): 360
Litres to refill: 53

This equates I believe to an MPG of 30.88??

I do believe thats actually pretty good lol...

More to the point, the car was perfect throughout the weekend, just kept chugging along and absolutely no issues, on top of that plenty of comfort.. T2's FTW.

sounds good. When we were driving to the east midlands rally, we got about 26 on the country roads and about 32 on the motorway. And we also got lost:doh

Sticking to 65 or so thats pretty achievable. I drive from Wales to Oxford and back at an indicated 90 and get 26.......not sure if thats mpg or points though :doh

90...:eek::eek::eek: my speedo reads a good 10% high and my t2 struggles to make 80 on the speedo (out of revs in 5th).... all works ok maybe i need to try harder??? Do these have a rev limiter??

mine avaerages between 30 and 36 depending on driving conditions as for how fast it goes i've had it upto 110 on the speedo but thats 5mph faster than it should be so was doing about 105

then something needs servicing.....you should get up to 110 on the flat, which is actually about 98mph true...Ricoh's daydreaming LOL:lol

I just did 700 miles on Saturday, with trailer, (empty 450 Kg) 350 up at 23 to the gallon, kept speed down to around 60 mph 90% motorway work, return journey 350 said to myself home James as quick as poss will not say what I was doing but was not hanging about, filled it up today 66.6 litres = 23.06 mpg (345 miles) from last fill up, I am well pleased as before I changed the Lambda sensor I was getting 19 or less, I should add for those that do not know, this is a petrol motor and here at the mo £1.319 per litre, Rick

Yeah defo something wrong with some engine there lol - I also have allegedly had mine well over 100 MPH - not on the legal roads of course ;)
