might see you up there:thumb2
there's still room for more if you are interested.nothing too demanding for your truck just a great way to see parts of the dales you dont normally see.

Thanks mate. My brother has sorted the route and its gonna be more around Buxton then where you are. I may even give Stanage a try!

Stanage

I'de like to give Stanage a try some time too.

its well worth the effort.there is a volountry agreement that it can only be driven down hill and no more than 4 motors in a group.was closed for a while to 4x4's and horses in mid last year for repairs but as far as i'm aware its open again now.
never driven it myself but was a passenger in a series 2 back in the days when you could drive up it.took about 3 hours to get 3 landies up.
dadba if you can remember where we stopped for dinner on the derbyshire heather day we did with ian in last sept its not too far from there.

hi dadba .
i did stannage with corc last year .i needed a couple of waffle boards on the worst bit ,would recomend you go with corc who use spotters as picking the wrong route could cost you a tyre at the very least ,
at one point you have to get very very close to the rock face ,shear drop on the other side.

still time

still time to join us on sunday.what could be more relaxing than a nice drive in the country, fresh air, peace and quiet, great scenery and best of all driving off the tarmac using your 4x4 for its designed purpose.

we were even closer, before lunch. after the narrow gate posts. we met those guys
chasing a cow, the 90 with a cattle trailer that almost jacknifed! just before we turn left
there was a cyclist, if gone straight on dead end becomes climb to stanage...

being local keep thinking will drive upto summit stanage pole as easy for the view and
try the cb for skip.

WELL WHAT A GREAT DAY ,A LITTLE RUN UP THE ROAD TO MEET ELTON AND KAREN ,THEN OFF THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE FOR A FEW MILES ONTO THE FIRST LANE ,WHERE EVER THAT WAS .
ELTON HAD ME LOST FOR MOST OF THE DAY ,JUST FOLLOWED LIKE A SHEEP .baa . baa . baa.
With calls of where are we /whats that lane called.
I MANAGED TO GET MOST OF THEM INTO MY SAT NAV.
ELTON WILL HOPEFULLY TELL YOU WHERE WE BEEN.:kissy.
WE HAD A BIT OF DRIZZLE WHICH WAS NOT A POBLEM ,
BUT POOR COLLETTE GOT THE WORST OF IT OPENING ALL THOSE GATES.
MANY MORE LANES FOLLOWED SOME EASY SOME NOT .
MINNINGLOW WAS THE WORST ,DEEP RUTS WHICH ELTON MANAGED TO GET GROUNDED OUT ON ,SO DISCO TO THE RESCUE JUST A QUICK PULL HAD HIM FREE AGAIN .
THEN A BIT OF A STRUGGLE TO GET ALL 4 WHEELS IN THE SAME DIRECTION AND AWAY HE WENT NO PROBLEM. GOT DISCO THROUGH
OFF TO BAKWELL FOR LUNCH ,PARKED ALONGSIDE THE RIVER WYE .
OUT WITH THE KETTLES POT NOODLE FOR ME AND SHEILA .
ELTON + KAREN MUST OF GIVEN UP MOST OF THERE DINNERS SO THERE YOUNG ONES COULD FEED ALL THE DUCKS , GEESE AND GULLS.
OFF WE WENT FOR MORE LANES AROUND CHATSWORTH AND BEELEY MOOR ,THEN A FEW MORE LANES BEFORE COMING OUT NEAR MATLOCK ,WHERE WE PARTED COMPANY ELTON ,KAREN COTTETE AND THE TWO YOUNG ONES COULD BE HEARED OVER THE CB SHOUTING GOODBYE ,AS WE HEADED TOWARDS MATLOCK BATH FOR A FISH SUPPER .
WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO THEM FOR A GREAT DAY OUT.
VIDEO TAKEN JUST GOT TO GET IT UPLOADED .
