D21 with Terrano 2.7 TD... HELP?!?

Hi all I'm new to the site and new to Nissans/4x4's.
I recently bought a Nissan D21 and have just put a Terrano 2.7 Turbo lump in it but now it whistles constantly. I'll be honest I was in way over my head and I think it is more down to luck than skill that it actually runs at all. Does anyone live in the Dorset area that would be willing to have a quick look over it and tell me where I've gone wrong?
Mechanically I think it's ok but I have some spare electrical plugs left over from the engine and as much as I keep trying to convince myself spare bits are good I don't think this is one of those times.

likely to be inlet manifold, turbo or anywhere else air can get in where it shouldn't......does it have an intercooler?

when my mate changed a d22 engine he had a constant whistle and it was one of the turbo gaskets leaking.

Have you sprayed water and fairy liquid around to see if theres any leaks?

its can be a pain in the arse getting the fairies in the blender though.

no it doesn't have an intercooler but i'll give the water and fairy liquid a try... thanks guys
