Hi guys,

Time has come for me to start catching up with MOT advisories and other repairs.

Starting with CV joints....the passenger side is knocking and boot going, so defo replacement on that one....but......should I replace both at the same time, or isn't it too much of a problem if the drive side is not suspect ?

So is this item from the dreaded Milners the job, or can someone suggest a valid alternative ?

Also, I have to replace both discs due to excessive pitting.

Again, would the afore mentioned company supply or an alternative....bearing in mind all this is done through online purchasing.

The alternative is my technician will source locally, probably 'Blueprint' parts.......:nenau

I see no problem with the CVJ from Milners and same applies to Discs, but first check out your local factors as they may well be cheaper or even if a little dearer they are face to face suppliers, use them or lose them, Rick

Agreed about your local factors, could also ask them for discount too once they’ve given you a price as certainly brake parts normally have a large markup.

Banshee has a supplier in the midlands that he trusts too.

There’s a lot of parts that I wouldn’t touch Milners for due to previous experience of poor quality from them. However, I have had disks and not had a problem fitting or using. I have no idea about the cv joints or boot kits but if buying both what’s the price difference between those and a driveshaft? Especially if you are paying someone to fit them it maybe cheaper to fit a driveshaft than fit a joint and boot.

Unless other side has a problem I wouldn’t fix it if it aint broke but again if the disk is being changed I don’t think it is much more work to remove the driveshaft.
