ok I'm back again after a year of no probs:)
My T2 has always been a problem to get into first gear.
I have had the oil changed and no difference and now it hard to get into reverse.
Could it be clutch:nenau
While driving along all gears work fine its just starting off and reverse they crunch in.
Any Ideas
Many thanks:)

Sounds like it could be clutch.

When engageing the clutch to drive off is the bite point really low down?

On a flat road with the clutch down, bbrakes off and in gear does it creep forward?

Sounds like clutch drag, checking clutch fluid level and also bleeding the clutch as a starting point. I think there is a way to adjust it but damned if I can remeber right now.

Well thanks for reply I will check clutch fluid and do the test you have mentioned but because it is so hard to get into first gear I have to put it into first as I am rolling along before I stop at a juction so i know I can pull off without holding up all the traffic While I try and get it into gear ...and no creeping there .
Thanks again:thumbs

ideally you need to find the biting point on the clutch it will be the same in every gear so you could try the test in 2nd if you like. just give it some gas too... if its too low thats your problem
you could check clutch fluid, and pedal for excessive play. sometimes the pedal bracket breaks (they are quite weak) or the springs go.you might be not getting enough push or preasure on the hydraulic clutch this could be old worn out fluid or air or leak in system. new fluid will be a good test.
another is remove the extra hose that goes to the back pf the truck you should have one, god knows why its fitted its not needed and often causes problems and removing it might give you better push pressure on the clutch

these are the cheep diy options often they work , if none of the above work you need to look at the clutch itself.

i beleive jimmy offered to do one for makeitfit so could be a cheaper fix option than a garage:nenau

need any help ..... im available:naughty

Willow just try pumping the clutch a few times before you try putting it into first and see if that helps?
