has anyone removed one on a later tdi back of engine top of bell housing. i want to remove mine but the only way i can see is to remove gearbox. surely not.any hints please.
 
will look at Briggies truck tomorrow when I start taking the box out, got it up on axle stands ready, so straight onto spanners in the morning, Rick
 
Single M6 bolt on mine, sensor then (should) pull out of bellhousing.

Cheers for that but how you get the bugger back.

briggies may be different to mine as his has a slosh box and mine being manual.
begginin to fall outa love with this motor i feel a discovery coming on.
 
Am i being thick? I dont see what the issue is?

the sensor is at the back of the engine i cant see how to guide it back in theres a gap of about 60mm.my arm aint going dowm there.perhaps its me being thick.please describe to me how you would remove / replace.i have forearms like popeye.
 
I seem to recall I had the intercooler off on the last truck that needed CAS work, and i lay over the top of the engine.

can but try.intercooler off and various others to make access to diesel pump.i removed banjo bolt dug out filter only to be told by nissan leics they cant find on system.so thats going back without filter but i put small inline filter just before.also ordered a fuel return valve incase this is cause off issues with said toyrano.start cheap work me way up to dear parts.

i buggered it when i pulled it out to clean.my filter was inside the bolt i believe earlier one were inside banjo.

Ah.....Ok Spud.............Yours is probably the same type as mine then, but I think they aren't removable as I looked into removing mine when I needed to clean it ...........you just need clean them in situ in the bolt.It's handy if you have some acetone or paint thinners and an airline to blow it out.
When I did one on a Mazda Bongo diesel engine it had a removable mini filter which was slightly easier to clean.
