That looks like a really great place, and I'd have a go if I didn't need the car for towing my caravan and work, but why do they need your docs (I can't afford to bin it!). It would be OK if you could trailer a purely off road vehicle there just for that purpose?

Alan

Nope, road legal cars only. They check mot, tax and insurance, no docs no play...
They were prosecuted for death by neglegance last year hence they are so strict. A young lad was killed unfortunately when he rode his moto-x bike off the side of a cliff. Nothing to do with 4x4s but they had to tighten the rules a lot. I've even seen the police up there before ensuring they check cars docs...

Having said that the place is fantastic and twice the size of Briercliffe. Its not free roam site, there are set out routes to follow and its all one way. There is a green route and a red route. Any standard car can do the green route without damage, but its still a challenging drive. The red route is ideal for modded cars and more experienced drivers, but saying that there will be bits a standard car could cope with :thumb2

this is what puts me off the one way and no roaming for £25 its good value compaired to korc

TONUP mine is my only car and is standard apart from the tyres being mixed lol i only damaged mine cause i went some where i could go if the front hadnt sagged a bit

Dont let it put you off mate, its just a different experience and also you are a lot less likely to damage something.
Basically do the green route first so you get a feel for the place, then have a look at some easier parts of the red section. You can miss bits out, you dont have to stay exactly on track, but for safety you do have to go in the direction of the arrows so you dont come over a crest and head on into someone else.
It is well worth a visit and you'll go back again trust me :thumb2

i cant see point of docs, cos after all your insurance wont cover you off road.

unless shows legit driver??, and car safe cos its got an mot which could be
nearly a year old too??

Exactly... it proves you are a legit driver.

They have had too many probs in the past I guess, plus anyone shy of showing their docs they dont want there (potential idiots...) but to be frank they dont stand for any idiots full stop, not with the "Hulk" on patrol...

The long and short of it is its one of the best sites in the area, with some fantastic routes set out, normally with a great crowd of folk in the car park / pits. Its £25.00 for the day and I bet you will be back once you've been.

And to anyone shy of showing their docs... I say get off your high horse, I'm proud to show folk I keep my motor 100% legit!

well it looks like i will be going for a few hrs see what its like

rigged a camera holder via the grab bar on the passenger side and a full size tripod will see how we get on with it lol
