As the title states i have developed a small coolant leak that looks to be coming from somewhere on the oil cooler on the o/s of the engine block.
Looks like its going to be a pig of a job to remove and make/buy a new gasket and O rings.
Anybody else ever had this problem??

Yes when I’d had it in at a garage for starter changing years ago. They’d removed dipstick tube. It turns out that the bracket is held by one of the oil cooler bolts. Have you tried nipping bolts up, think I got at them from the rubber wheel arch cover.

That was going to be my first check Jim.:thumb2
I didn't have any brackets to the dipstick tube that pick up on the oil cooler bolts when i removed the sump from my old lump.
This engine is from an earlier terrano so its possible it could have had them so a bolt was loosened to remove the sump.

I think this engine is from a 97/98 terrano so fingers crossed your suggestion will do the job Jim:thumb2

Coolant leak all sorted now:thumb2
As Jim said a couple of the bolts where loose and one was missing:eek:
Positive they where all there when the engine went back in.
Had to remove the starter so i could replace the bolt.
It was the one in the bottom centre that had gone awol.

Good news it’s sorted, think I used bluetack to hold bolt in a socket which sadly remained out of reach on the bolt. Didn’t half stink when it melted:doh

Well done elty:clap
