Hi guys, just a thought at the moment....but i am considering selling my terrano and buying a 2001 ML270 Merc.
Just wondered if i could get some ideas on what the Terrano may be worth?

1998 (S) 2.7 TDi, Solomon special edition with about 190k on the clock.
Runs like a dream, has had a two inch body lift a couple of years ago, the plug in Power Chip, wheel spacers and all terrain tyres, black leather interior and a snorkel.
It has a few faults i guess, mainly the typical rusting front wings and the leaking rear door seal.

any help or advise would be appreciated

Beware the old ML - potential money pit !

It is not the question you have asked but I would personally not buy the old ML.

I have worked at a MB dealer for 12 years and would not touch one. The newer model is very good. The older 2.7 ML is a fine engine but there are issues with the electrics such as the steering angle sensor that can cause the stability control warning light to come on.

The failure is often in the angle sensor. On the later ML you can buy the sensor (less than £100) on the old model ML it is a new steering column ! That is over a £1200 for the part alone.

The rear suspension mounts are a pig to replace and the ride quality of the old ML is variable from vehicle to vehicle. We have even had a customer whose brakes came on by themselves on the Motorway causing the vehicle to brake to a halt in the fast lane. The vehicle then drove normally afterwards but the fault returned several times. MB Germany ended up paying for and fitting a new Brake Module on a car that was over 10 years old ! Customer who had bought the vehicle privately would not drive it again and got rid.

The brakes are very spongy at best and the US built vehicle was never great when new there are a lot of better alternatives out there that are reasonably cheap as a used buy.

I liked our old Terrano r3mR, and the Santa Fe that replaced it. We currently own a 2.7 Jeep that has the ML Merc engine but I have to say the ride on poor roads lets it down and I would not recommend it.

You'll find that most people will look at the age of your truck first and be put off.

We always put more value on our cars than people will pay.

We know these trucks are good strong motors but sadly there are a lot of people out there that don't.

Check web sites such as ebay and auto trader to see what people are asking for similar vehicles.

Pm me your asking price,we maybe able to come to a deal...

well guys i took the plunge and bought myself another motor, a 2006 Mercedes ML320 CDI.

I havent got rid of my trusty terrano, i didnt have the heart too....so i "gave" it to my daughter to run, so i will still be sticking around, hope thats okay?
