I have an old Compair compressor which is run by an electric motor. The motor has a glass window in it, which allows you to see the internals of a cam type affair inside, this is splashed by oil in a small sump.
I was just wondering what type of oil I should use in this, do these use special oils :nenau

Machine mart, and sometimes Aldi, sell compressor oil.
I don't know what is special about it, say compares to multigrade:nenau

Thanks Rustic, I've been having a look on Google and it appears you need to get the correct oil for these, I will have a look about.
I was given the compressor and have started to collect a few air tools, I now have a selection of underseal guns, so will be doing my Terry with air power :thumbs

You must use proper compressor oil, any other oil will turn to gum in the ports as all compressors pass a little oil, I do not know the technical differences but think it is due to the likes of engine oils have viscosity improver's and cleaning agents, Seally do a compressor oil been using it for years never a problem, Rick

The oil I get for my compressor is H150V viscosity 100 for the compressor
And H200 viscosity 22 for the tools:thumb2

Thanks guys, I will have a look for the correct stuff then :thumb2
