I brought a set off James, they were very cheap so I'm not overly fussed but they look like when they were cut that they were bodged

Its about 1ft short of the back door and has other random bits chopped out and I'm not happy with it so I'm going to use it as a template to create a new one but obviously extend the end etc

My mate is a very handy chippy and has a jigsaw and has offered to help me with it as long as I use the old one as a template and provide the wood, I want to get the wood from Selco, question is what should I use?

http://www.selcobw.com/products/timber-mdf-sheet-materials/sheet-materials/plywood

next question, would anyone else be interested in one? I might keep a couple in the shed in case anyone is interested in doing a SWB conversion in the future or in case anything happens to mine :thumb2

I used to get the lovely job of paneling out vans at work:doh as you've got a template it'll be nice & easy but as it comes up a bit short cut some cardboard to fill in the gaps at the back or sides leaving an inch over lap onto the wood & once these bits are done tape them onto the template & lay the whole lot on top of the new wood. As for wood i'd go with 18mm ply for the floor you could use MDF but it would need sealing with resin to protect it against water. IIRC you'll have to build a small frame under where the back seat go's to level the floor & you might be able to use the seat mounting points to hold the frame in place:thumb2If your wanting to do the sides or bock in the wheel arches 9mm ply would be fine

Thanks for the reply mate

I've already purchased a polystyrene genuine Nissan floor leveler from a member on here :thumbs2

The guy who made this one that I've got must have been blind!!!! It's even been cut in half and planed in some areas by the look of it as it goes in in two separate parts, the seat belt anchor points are still in there at the moment, I need to angle grind the outer part off and leave the bolt in place to keep it water tight and not expose any holes etc, due to how these trucks rot its probably already serving as some structural integrity at the moment too!!!!

I never thought about boxing the wheel arches up but now you've said it that's not a bad idea!!!!

Is this OK for the floor?
http://www.selcobw.com/products/tim...ood/exterior-plywood-sheet-1220-x-2440-x-18mm

Is that going to be long enough length and width? 1.2m x 2.4m? Pretty sure that should be OK

I just wish we could fit 8x4 sheet material into the Mav/ Terrano when visiting the builders merchants.
I use a small 5x3 Klinn camping trailer, with attachments on the top, where I can clamp lots of 8x4's on the top.
I also made side attachments that clamp to the sides etc, which increases the internal height from a foot to three feet, and then the cover fits on that. Great for moving things, and trips to the tip with hedge cuttings etc.

I did mine with exterior ply , but in two sections. I'm pretty sure that's beacause the width of the truck is over 1220
So I used one across the width then a second piece at the back.
I kept the space underneath too for storage of strops and tools etc :thumbs

No room in SWB to waste :sly
You can order bigger sheets of ply at about 3m x 1.5m but won't be at Selco :lol

I also put a load of tie down points in :thumbs

That wood will be fine as it's Exterior Ply:thumbs The width on the inside of the truck is about 4.5-5ft but best you measure it & the length as it might have to go in 2 sections. If you do choose to box in the wheel arches you could extend them towards the front seats & hinge the top so you have some storage boxes for tools etc:augie I've not long made up a false floor for my Son's car as the backseat has been removed (big sound system going in) but I didn't want open holes in the floor so used the holes & bolts to hold down the floor I just used a wood spade bit to drill partly into the wood so the bold heads were counter sunk flush with the floor:thumb2
