It's not bad news though:nono, I'll by taking Toby the terrano off the road so I can get a Volvo, but its not going to sit and rot, whilst off the road, I am going to do a engine rebuilt with all new gaskets etc, rub down the chassis and waxoil the **** out of it, also tackle the bits of rot and little niggles, so its actually a good thing, after the work, I should basically have a new truck :thumb2:thumb2

Ryan, it doesn't quite work out that way:doh
Bend it and it will still only be worth a few hundred quid, it doesn't matter if you have a new engine, chassis or even a galvanised new body, book price is all's it's worth at best, and then, they will be looking for ways to lower that price too. :doh

To write it off, it only needs some granny to pull out in front of you or a boy racer to run up the back, you have no control over these types of accidents.

A dented front wing= write off.
Stoved in rear bumper = write off

So if I were you you need to have a contingency plan should it ever happen.

My Mav is still like new, but book price... very low, I couldn't find a similar car in the same condition it would have to be 10 years younger to start with...:nenau:nenau

I'm doing it for myself as I'm not selling the truck because I saved up for a terrano since I was 7, I just want to make it live longer, if I did sell him, I'd make a monumental loss, but that doesn't bother me as I'm not going to sell

Ryan, you take no notice of him. If you want to do the car up as you see fit then go for it. It's a great learning experience for you besides giving you something to do. You already sound a practical person so this can only benefit you and you'll hopefully have something to show for your efforts.

Thank you :) yeah, I do enjoy working on cars, with the Hyundai, I wanted to buy it, do it up then sell it on for a profit, start small and work you're way up:thumb2, also, I driven a Volvo and it was nice, also very practical for what I do :thumb2

No insurance=no license=no work in my opinion
Just seems daft to me getting more cars without being able to drive one and therefore afford to do what you like with them :nenau

I'm selling the Hyundai tho and getting a Volvo that I can insure as its a lot cheaper than the terrano to insure

Ah right, I didn't realise you were selling the Hyundai.
Thought you only got that to get the cheap insurance to get your test etc etc
I'll go back to my wine , good luck :surrender
