Hello everyone,
I fixed my passenger footwell leak, thanks to some advice on this forum. Now I have another leak!Still in the passenger footwell, but inexplecably, near the passenger seat,it is wet on two ridges a few inches from the front of the seat.Does anyone know how this area could be wet? This only happens after significant rainfall, stationary, overnight. This 3dr 03 has a sunroof by the way,and is parked on level ground.I think I fixed another leak in the boot where it was getting in at the roof mounted door seal and running down the trim into the boot.
Any pointers, once again are much appreciated.
Darin.

Another colander Terrano !

Hi harajack.
Glad to hear you had success with rear door leak. I had same problem and cured it with black mastic using same method as you.

If you read back through the "water in passenger footwell" threads (you probably have already) you will see that I, and others, have battled with all sorts of suspect and actual water entry points to find the cause.
Could prattle on for pages about this problem because I found so many mysteries, including water ON the ridges , just as you describe. I think it would be best (if you wish) to email me and I will give you my phone number to compare notes. After lots of seeking and sealing I have finally cracked it. Fingers crossed ! Two weeks with lots of rain, stationary and driving, and all is dry around the passenger's feet. Am now thinking about refitting replacement soundproofing etc. at long last.

Check your sunroof drain holes as they are prone to blocking.

Open the sunroof up and gently pour some water into the tracks of the sun roof and see where the water goes or builds up.

The 2 drain holes are on each side of the sunroof in the front corners.

I usually give them a blast with compressed air to clear the lines out now then.

Thanks very much for your replies, folks.
I'll try the sunroof,then send you a p.m. for a chat about it,Chaster.

leaky footwell

lift up bonnet and there is a rubber sealing strip that stretches across the top of bulkhead.this i presume is to seal rear of bonnet when shut. This is held in place by small plastic push fit lugs, the passenger side lug leaks through into the bulkhead and in turn into the blower heater intake dripping through into the blower and through onto the passenger footwell.to repair just seal lug with silicone sealent.the blower intake is in fact the flap to change the airflow from inside circulation to outside fresh air.i hope this explanation is ok this leak occurs only on heavy rainfall and when washing car, believe me one little leaky lug can cause a lot of problems.

Best way I found to check the sunroof drain holes was some plastic strimmer cable as this wont push through the side walls of the drain tubes.
