The diesel DTC port is NOT OBD compliant.
It is a bespoke Nissan interface that just uses the same physical connector as OBD.
I will be putting together an affordable a fault code reader later this year.... watch this space....

That orange thing is exactly what I got from ebay (in looks anyway :nenau ), paid £19 inc p&p after putting in an offer.

Never used it on the T2 so I cant comment but it cleared old faults off my car, worked on my lads car and lending it out has earned me endless beers and favours.

In fact its in next doors garage as we speak after successfully assisting in diagnosing his clio's problem.

Excellent bit of kit you can get by without but once youve got one :thumb2:thumb2

The one I got decides the protocol its going to use when you plug it in. Dont know if its different or the same as the one in the original link.

It worked on an 02 clio and a 52 jeep to name 2 :thumb2

the obdii compliant readers unfortunately don't read consult 2 systems. the consult 2 specifically(diesels). it will read petrol models right up to date mostly, however not diesel nissans. doh!

Youve lost me now, it read the codes off mine (diesel) no problem and the data matched the readings from the switch the ignition on twice, turn on your heel and shout bonanza and kiss the windscreen technique.

It also cleared them down :nenau

i did say nissan diesels. grand cherokee is american, and they were made to have to abide by obd/obdii/eobd by the gov.

Sorry I misread it. Just by the by the grand cherokee 2.7 is entirely a european model . Apart from grey imports it was not sold in the states and is built in AustriaGraz I think??) as a joint venture between Merc & Jeep under the Chrysler family banner.

I understand the upshot of that is that it conforms to all Euro regs but not american.
