As it says anyone know what 146 means on a petrol, I checked it several times, so reading it right, Rick

bump, no one know? I think it is something to do with inlet air temperature sensor but unsure, Rick

Wasn't their a thread or somthing here that listed all the fault codes? I'm sure their was, send ray a pm as he seems to know all his stuff, I've got a disk with the fault codes for most cars on it, I'll have a look at it tomorrow:thumb2

have asked ray and yes have seen the list but it only goes up to 94, trouble is most info only addresses the TD or TDi but not the petrol, Rick

Not absolutely sure but,...

I wonder if 146 should be interpreted as 1406?

In which case P1406 seems as though it indicates EGR valve position error, possibly caused by carbon build up?

Had a look at my terrano manual and its just got diesel OBD codes :doh

Maybe other Nissan petrol vehicles will have the same fault code list? Eg primera, micra, almera

My EGR has been disabled, vac pipes off as well as blank plate, so this just could be it, have you got a better code list than I have as I only go to 94, Rick

If it's a P-Code then:
P0146 = Heated Oxygen Sensor #3, Bank 1, No activity detected

Mudlifes links make sense too, I did wonder if the Lambda sensor could be at fault.
P0146 or P1406?
So most probably either Lambda or EGR?

Just realised the wifes car has the EGR vac pipes disconnected as well and she gets a 55, I am now wondering if it is the intake air temperature sensor, but no time to check now, Rick
