Clutch return valve block off??

On the clutch there is a slave cylinder with a return running to the rear, has anyone blocked this off???
What did you use??

Mick, I'm not to clued up on this, my mechanic mate told me to ask on here, how do you use that pipe??
I was expecting some sort of capped end!!
Excuse my ignorance!!

P.s mine is a 2004, will it fit

The damper pipe, I believe was a "bodge" sorry, " Quality control improvement device" by Nissan, to stop a small number of Terranos and Mavericks having a minor vibration problem from the clutch. I helped to smooth any vibrations.
Nissan did not know which cars would be affected, so they rolled out this" improvement" across all vehicles, thus solving the problem. Cheaper in the long run than doing recalls.
The pipe runs towards the rear of the car, and simply has a bleed nipple on the end. This pipe is susceptible to rust, so can cause other issues, so most members bypass it with no noticeable lack of performance.
It is possible that some vehicles really need it, so refitting it or something similar can return it back to acceptable.

Think of the bypass pipe, like an appendix in Humans, no one knows what it does, until it causes serious problems, so it is then removed.
If there are no issues with it, then leave it alone.:thumb2

As soon as I removed mine it gave me a noisy release bearing which gets louder when the clutch pedal is pushed in. As soon as I get chance I will be replacing it with a copper pipe and reuse the end fitting with the bleed nipped.

Did the noise stop when you replaced the pipe ?
